News Release
January 5 , 2007
On January 5, 2007, the Coastal Water Authority (CWA) had a meeting to discuss possible funding sources for the Luce Bayou Project with the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). The TWDB indicated that the Luce Bayou Project could be financed through the State Participation Program.
Representatives of the TWDB indicated that the project would be accepted for consideration for State Participation Funds as a New Water Supply Project. If approved, the CWA would receive funds to cover 80 percent of the construction cost to meet total project demands through 2060. The TWDB accepts applications for funding by February 1 and September 1 of each year. Several requirements for application are outlined in the more general WRD-006 and Chapter 382 as well as the State participation specific Chapter 363, Subchapter J. CWA will submit a funding application for TWDB consideration by September 1, 2008. The funding application will include general information about CWA, a brief comprehensive description of the Project, and the purpose of and need for the Project.
