On August 31, 2007, CWA Executive Director, Gary N. Oradat, met with District 4 Texas State Senator Tommy Williams to discuss the Luce Bayou Project. Also in attendance were TCB Project Director Mike Reedy and Community Outreach Coordinator Anya McInnis.
A general overview of the purpose, scope, and schedule of the project was provided to Senator Williams. Potential beneficiaries of the water provided by the project will include residents in North and West Harris Counties, Fort Bend County, and Montgomery County. All of the facilities required to construct the project will lie within the Senator’s District 4 area. Senator Williams expressed his appreciation to Gary Oradat for briefing him about this important project. The Senator stated that he was particularly interested in the project as it relates to the water supply issues in Montgomery County and further stated that he would be discussing the merits of the project with representatives of the San Jacinto River Authority. Senator Williams also requested that a similar meeting be scheduled at a future date with members of his staff and other local and state legislators.
